Mazatlan Clubs
Bora Bora
Mazatlan's most famous beach bar was recently razed & is closed, undergoing a full remodel. Located beachfront in the Fiestaland Complex, and most know for its bar top dancing. Scheduled to reopen in time for Spring Break 2007, so stay tuned!
Fiesta Land
Mazatlan's most exclusive disco is perched Cliffside on the ocean. What makes this club spectacular is the fact that the glass dance floor is literally suspended over the surf crashing 100 feet down below it on the cliffs. Located in the Fiestaland Complex & also undergoing a complex remodel, this fantastic spring break venue will be open in time for spring break 2007.
Sumbawa
Sumbawa is Mazatlan's finest club venue. Located in the Fiestland Complex, this exclusive venue is located right on the beach. Think New York style-lounge coupled with a Robinson Crusoe Mediterranean beach theme all rolled up into one. Arguably one of the world's hippest beach / lounge venues in the world.
Coliseo
The Coliseo is Mazatlan's largest nightclub, themed after a crumbing Roman coliseum. Located just down the street from the Howard Johnson, this multi-level club venue hosts spring break parties in excess of 1000+ students per night in March.
El Caracol
El Caracol is home to our Mazatlan spring break foam party. Located at the El Cid Mega Resort, this club features 4 levels & an amazing sound system for awesome spring break parties. Expect long lines on certain nights.
Mundo Bananas
The venerable Mundos is known for hosting wild mardi gras parties. This indoor/outdoor venue is right in the heart of Mazatlan's famous "golden zone" tourist district.
Joe's Oyster Bar
Joe's is the coolest place to hang out during the day in Mazatlan, particularly if you get tired of the same "stage" contests everyday. Located beachfront at the Los Sabalos Hotel, this famous outdoor venue sells ice-cold buckets of Coronas for about $10 USD every day, with bumping hip-hop & beach volleyball.
Mazatlan Restaurants
Reviews are the opinion of the Webmaster at Inertia Tours only, and should be considered as such.
Fast Food - Mmmmm...the grease.
Hot Dog Stands
Don't eat at the hot dog stands. Me da Chorro! Which translates into: “They give me the shits!”
Subway
Located in the Golden Zone across from the Playa Mazatlan hotel, as well as up across the street from the Hotel Costa De Oro.
Nice "Sit Down" Restaurants
Cowtown
Cowtown is located across the street from The Los Sabalos Hotel. This bar is a great place to start happy hour off with. Cowtown has streetside cafe style seating, and excellent steak sandwiches to boot.
Mambo Cafe
If you're looking for something different in Mazatlan, and want to party down with the locals, check out the Mambo Cafe. The Mambo Cafe chain is Mexico's best known Salsa Bar chain, with live bands & entertainment. Located in the Galeria Mazatlan, so take a cab to get there for a wild Friday or Saturday night.
The Dugout Sports Bar & Grill
The Dugout is a fun little sports bar across the street from Dairy Queen with some very friendly service. Excellent burger baskets & the home of the NCAA basketball tournament coverage in March. Just down the street from the Balboa Beach.
El Capitano
Capitano is one of Mazatlan's best beachfront dining restaurants. Candlelit at night & on the beach, El Capitano has surprisingly low prices. A seafood platter with fresh fish, shrimp, & lobster is only about $15 USD. They also host some of our free meals on our Free ta' Eat Diner program included with all Mazatlan Spring Break Trips. If you want a nice dinner one night, check it out.
Ernie's Tomatoes
Ernies not only hosts the majority of our spring break dinners on our Free ta' Eat! Diner Program, it is one of Mazatlan's best overall dining experiences. Ernies menu is very much like TGI-Fridays or Bennigans, and the restaurant has awesome banana-strawberry Daquiris that are of course jumbo-sized. They combine great food with DJ'd music in a fun setting.
Gringo Lingo
Gringo Lingo is one of Mazatlan's oldest bars on the strip within the Golden Zone. The place has always had excellent chicken or steak fajitas for dinner, either way. The open air seating is really nice, and the huge margaritas they pore make the time go by pretty fast. We use this two-level venue for some of the smaller spring break weeks' parties.
Tony's
You can't miss Tony's corner / apex location as you come into the Golden Zone. The bar food at Tony's is actually quite good, but you'll have to put up with super loud music blaring while you eat.
Anthony's
Sister restaurant to Tony's with basically the same menu. Located across the street from Ernie Tomatoes, this restaurant has reasonably priced food with much better ambiance, since the music is making you tone-deaf at all times.
Señor Frog's
If you haven't heard of the place, Senor Frogs is what made Mexico Spring Break so famous back in the day. Crazy wait staff & contests, fun party music, and tons of great food. They also sell souvenir "yard" glasses that you can put your favorite drink into. Located across the street from the beach, it's a cab ride from any hotel excepting the Howard Johnson. Home to our Dinner Party.
Shrimp Bucket
The Shrimp Bucket is part of the Senor Frogs/Grupo Anderson chain of restaurants. Located near downtown in the Hotel La Siesta, it is definitely worth the short cab ride there. This restaurant possibly has the World's finest tasting fried shrimp, and we're not kidding. The shrimp come in the bottom of this "bucket" which consists of what looks like a huge-ass clay coffee mug, with fries on the bottom, and the awesome shrimp piled on top. Mazatlan is the world's largest shrimping port, so fresh shrimp are assured.
VIPs
Just like your local Denny's back home with breakfast all day, but it's not open 24 hours. They have a wide selection of menu items from eggs to steak and shrimp to local favorites. The food is good and the price isn't too bad either. If you are looking for something other then tacos and fajitas then stop by VIPS and enjoy a good meal.
Located across from the Fiestaland Complex & the hotel Riviera.
