- Padre has massive condos that are affordable. Condos RULE as you have a full kitchen to save you money on food prep, as well as a fridge for your beer or marks. With this is a three-fold reason….I – you have room to pregame 2 – you don’t have to leave anyone home! 3 = the condos let you bring in all your own alcohol which saves major cash
- Drinking on the beach is LEGAL as are open containers provided you are 21 years of age. While it is annoying you must have an ID on you at all times, if you ARE 21 not having to buy expensive hotel drinks will save you massive money. Heck. Even kegs are legal on the beach!
- You can drive here. Simply put, you don’t need an expensive airline ticket that now with bag fees will add an EASY $500 to $800 per person on top of accommodations which for a broke college student is a lot of money. Padre is LOW COST, you cannot beat the price to ANYWHERE overall that South Padre. Yes, Vegas is $50/night for a room, but try buying a beer or even a burger there, you’re out $20. Not on the Island. THERE IS NO PLACE CHEAPER TO GO ON SPRING BREAK! There, we said it, and we HATE the word cheap! Can you say ROAD TRIP?!!!
- It is a 10000% easy sell to your parentals. As a college student, generally even IF you aren’t asking your parents to chip in on the cost of the trip, you likely still have to clear with them going on spring break. Telling mom or dad you plan to road trip to Texas is way easier to pitch than going to Mexico which can be deemed unsafe by the birthers. Plus, asking them to chip in on a $500 trip instead of $1500 trip is a much easier YES than a NO. The US laws, your health insurance, etc all insure a level of increased security and safety NO SANE PERSON can argue with over Mexico or the Caribbean.
- South Padre is still tropical, it is as far south as Miami. This means way, way warmer weather than Panama City, Destin, Gulf Shores, Vegas or New Orleans. Plus, it has REAL OCEAN beach and pools you can grab a tan at. Very unlikely you get a tan in Florida unless you go to Miami and that place is EXXXPEEENSSIIVEEE baby!
- The clubs and bars are all 18+ to enter. Even though it is 21 to drink legally, it is 18 to enter. Think pregame folks, I shall say no more but the end of the day, you don’t have to leave some people from your house at home because of an age restriction
- Padre has real first-class eye-popping concerts! For spring break 2020, the inertia Tours line up includes Waka Flocka, Lil Nas X, Dababy, Saweetie, DJ Diesel (Shaq!) Two Friends, & Fetty Wap. That doesn’t even include the other spring break concerts at Clayton’s Beach Bar including Lil Baby & more.
- There are REAL spring break nightclubs and bars here. Unlike some whack destinations like Fort Lauderdale or Destin, South Padre has REAL massive clubs like Louie’s Backyard and Clayton’s Beach Bar, plus some pool parties at the Pearl Resort & more. That gives it a Mexico style spring break all-out feel, yet is still in the US of A
- South Padre Island is CHILL. You don’t have to dress up to go out at night…but you can. You can wear flip flops or clubwear. This matters as your friends individually taste in attire will be met, unlike stuffy destinations like Cabo or Puerto Vallarta that can have strict (and annoying) dress codes, especially for guys. On another note, South Padre doesn’t make the guys sit outside in line like a peasant like Vegas does, and it has fair cover charges of like $10 to get in unless a major concert night, which is STILL FAIR at just $20 to $30!!!
- The Booze Cruises, which we call the Party Yacht Cruises. Inertia Tours has had half a dozen idiot competitors try to copy our cruises, but ours are 100% at capacity and theirs..well…lammmeee O with like ¼ full boats. Now, we do have to knock out of your mind some Yacht you see Drake or Cardi B on…these are simple, double-decker boats or catamarans with music and dancing on there, not super nice these are for having FUN! Expect beer bongs, shotgunning beers, and overall completely off the hook obnoxious people on these 100 person cruises that last just under 2 hours on the bayside of the Island (ie not bad waves it’s smooth as silk!) You BYOB the cruises, though cups, ice, and mixers are all included. The cost is just $35 per person. If you have an inertia accommodations package, this cruise is already included FREE.
